Children In Action
Pray...Give...Learn...Do.
The mission of Children in Action can be summarized in the above 4 words. The group of children, generally from 1st through 6th grade, meet every Saturday at the Hope Center for the purpose of missions.
Pray for Missions
On the 2nd and 4th Saturdays, the children are taught about missionaries and spend time praying for them.
Give to Missions
On the 1st and 3rd Saturdays, the children visit Nursing Homes. During these visits, the children lead the residents in a worship service, and they always carry a gift of some kind to give away.
On other occasions throughout the year, the children are involved in several activities to give of their time to missions. For example, they annually raise money to support the Lottie Moon offering. They have sent medical supplies to Angola, letters and offerings to Canada, school supplies and toys to El Salvador, letters to those who are sick, sent boxes to Christmas-in-August missionaries, among other activites.
Learn About Missions
The children are taught each Saturday about particular missionaries, and about the role and purpose of missions both locally and abroad.
Do Missions
As already outlined above, the children are very active in carrying out practically on a weekly basis what they have learned regarding missions.
